Check the Logs within the Router at the times the ethernet issue comes up.
Then you can better determine if it's cause of your powerline adapters or the modem/router itself. Power cycle the modem+router and see if this helps by power these down for about 90secs or longer, then power then back on, wait for ISP signal sync, then test your connected devices via SpeedTest.net
