DO you know what this MIGHT mean?
Okay, let's say these guys actually go in on your request and decide to put this game on Steam, however slim those chances are.
But, in an ideal world, let's say they do. This might mean that Machines gets the attention it never got but always deserved. And the game might be old, but I think that people are really going to notice right away how innovative the game was for its time... I mean, name 2 modern RTS-es with 2/3 different camera modes? The ability to first-person your unit?
Ok, let's face it, the game does lack variation in that every faction has the same units. And the pathfinding, the atrocious pathfinding which sucked *donkey*balls. But that was just inherent in the game from the start. Can't do anything about that. But this is Machines we're talking about here...
Maaaan, I do hope this request will get through...
But, im afraid they will need a bit of pressure to make this happen, so thats why we need send emails to them praising the game. Its not to much; just say to them "hey just play machines, you will like it". If they see a lot of people doing this they will start to think about.
Hope however, they dont have problems trying get the rights of this game.
(just wondering what happened to the writters and game devs... they planned a machines 2)
Well, do it. Dont forget to post the reply, the guys are pretty kindly and im sure they will answer you.
You dont need, really. Just send a nice email to the guys.

Hey, @sd70macsd70mac, you send then an email? Got any answer?
I hope that won't happen :)
Just see sim city 4, it was made by EA (ok, maxis, and long ago, but you know what i mean), and was made to be moded.
I mean, where are the humans? Why some planets have terrestrian vegetation if supposelly nothing life come from earth after so many time?
Maybe nothing of this matters if the producers didnt thought about back then, who knows.
I remember reading on TV Tropes [tvtropes.org], of all places, that there was in-game evidence that mankind was extinct, but the link to the evidence was dead. I haven't played enough of the campaign to find it myself yet. (The campaign is hard!)
