Acoording to the Independent live ticker, the threat alerts for the Canadian and US West Coast have all been cancelled, thankfully it didn't develop into a tsunami after all.
Such things are hanrd to predict. It depends on the depth and location of the earthquake, it's strength (how much tectonic energy it releases), and the underwater shape of the coastal areas.
