SteamOS: "No common CD-Rom drive was detected."
I am trying to install SteamOS and I am having a problem almost immediatly. I get to the step where I click "automated install" then I immediatly get a message that says "No common CD-Rom drive was detected." and it gives me an option to load drivers.
At first I didn't install a cd-rom in my machine so I then installed one and got the exact same message. I don't think it is actually referring to a cd-rom but maybe a usb driver? Has anyone encountered this?

I got it to work. I simply used an old 2GB thumb drive instead of one one my 16GB drives (I tried 2 different 16s and both had the same error).

I ran into this problem. I tryed two of my older USB sticks and nothing worked, so today i picked up a SanDisk Cruzer Glide 8 GB. Problem solved I did not get the error. :cgrazz:

I had this error with a 16GB USB3 transcend stuck, then tried again with a generic 4GB usb2 stick and it worked fine.
