SteamOS High Resolution Support
I installed SteamOS 3.8 on my PC today.
There is a problem when running steam in game mode. When i set the resolution to my monitor's native 3840x2160 @ 240fps, the screen flickers black.

If i go in to KDE Plasma/desktop mode and go to Display configuration i can change Adaptive Sync to Always the problem goes away in KDE/ Desktop mode.

However as soon as i return to game mode the problem comes back.

I tried going to developer mode and enabling 'allow external display refresh control' but it didnt work.

Im able to start the games from library between the screen flickering and run them perfectly at 4k @ 240hz.... the problem only occurs when in Steam Game Mode.

Can you please help me fix this?

I solved this by pressing Ctrl 2, which brings up another menu with more display options including Variable Refresh Rate and allow tearing which instantly fixes the problem.

Steam, if you're reading this can you please move those options to the main display settings menu.
never seen this problem on either gaming mode or desktop mode in my two years using steamos since 3.7.7. 4k at 240hz. I tested it on my daughters pc because mine only goes to 144hz. everything is fine. But you mentioned "allow tearing" That says to me that the problem is wayland.
