As you may already know, Steam added severe restrictions on inventory queries, which means it is now much harder to keep STM users' inventories up to date. All the community services which rely on users Steam inventories are impacted by this.

SteamTrade Matcher has always used multiple IP addresses to make sure to have optimal uptime on inventory queries. However, the latest changes are so extreme that a lot more IPs would be needed to keep the same level of service as before, but that would mean a very high monthly cost to keep the service online.

I made several changes within the last few weeks to try to keep SteamTrade Matcher usable.

- Publicly listed users are now automatically refreshed every 12 hours. There was no defined timing before, but it used to be between 15 and 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the current limits make it very hard to refresh more often than 12 hours, especially with the current number of public users.

- Manual refreshing is now possible every 2 hours, up from 10 minutes. At the moment, I cannot guarantee that manually refreshing will work every time.

- Tier 3+ ($25) supporters can manually refresh their inventories every 5 minutes, up from 2 minutes.

- The STM bot is using specific IPs at the moment to be able to continue working.

- At the moment, tier 4 ($50) supporters are also using the same IPs as the STM bot, which means they are almost guaranteed to be able to refresh their inventory at any time. I plan to also include tier 3 supporters into this within short term.
*** I understand this might not be seen as a good thing by some of you, but getting more IPs is expensive and this is my way of thanking supporters who helped finance this. The ultimate goal is obviously to have a good quality of service even for non-supporter users. ***
