I'm using Windows 7, pretty much the OS everyone in the world is using. Except for the ten people using Linux and the five people using Windows 8. Whenever I go to Settings and the Broadcast tab, it gives me that specific line: Steam Broadcasting is not currently supported on this operating system. Nothing else shows up.

So, what's the deal? Specifically, I have Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.

i have Vista 64 bit. and it tells me, my OS isnt supported.

Please make an icon or some notification available on the friends list that indicates whether a player has steam broadcasting enalbed or not.

Windows 7 is supported. Maybe it's a Steam Beta Client bug, so try restarting your client, or maybe Windows 7 Home is not supported.

I've tried restarting the client, reverting back to non-beta and upgrading to beta again, etc. etc.. I assume it's a quirk or a bug or something, so I'm not particularly worried about it or anything. I just feel it needs to be said or brought to someone's attention that'll make note of it. :P

Funny enough, it works out of the box on Win10 and Ubuntu.

im on fedora 20 and I get the same message. that being said I dont th ink its a bug on my end, why did it even let me update to the beta if it wasnt supported on the linux client yet?

Are you sure you're not running Steam in 'compatibilty' mode which amkes it think it's on Vista or XP
