Best Starting Space Games for New Players
Hey y'all, I wrote up a guide for space games new players should play to get into their respective genres. You can read it here:

https://www.spacegamejunkie.com/oped/guide-to-the-best-starting-space-games/

I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions as well!

I agree with nexus that's one of the best spacey games I ever played, has a real movie feel to it amazing graphics and design, I love the way the camera shakes when your next to the engine :-)

And what would the "Best Starting Space Turn-Based Strategy Game" be?

What kind of turn-based game? Grand strategy like a 4X or more tactical like a combat game with spaceships?

The latter.

Space Tyrant has elements of both 4X and tactical combat (though it's an active time battle system). It's also ridiculously easy to learn, and an excellent coffee break kind of game.
LSD or WHAT?

Only right things were FREESPACE 2 and Nexus!

Evochron Legacy is realy nice looking (haven't it) but that seems like X3+Elite Dangerous.

StarWolves Series is what you give in the hands of novics to play first.

4x
MASTER OF SHIT 2016: That fucking shit of a game from WARGAMING (lost 5 years on their Shit of WoT) never again falling to the hands of those Ukrainian theives, you are fcuking the Newbies by telling them to go that way.

Stellaris is the way to go, even if it is a piece of shit ony again Star-Lines.
If Star-Lines then go Stellaris, if you are not going to play MASTER OF ORION 2.

RTS:
Still Homeworld, the one and only. First playthrough and then find Mulitplayer vs friends

Tactical:
As you wrote: Nexus is the way to go.

Anyway a good handbooks, sadly the games for the handbook are old and not much many remakes.:steamfacepalm:

Else a newbe would have seen wonders like:

"Warhead" in deep space vs Berserkers near a Blackhole or "Millenium" for saving humanity and earth or fly are a Privateer to make a living or Fight the Kilrathi in WingCommander...or Star Lancer, or see how far an AI see in the future in Star Siege....

So many wonders not seen :steammocking:

You need to play Conquest: Frontier Wars.
