We are a casual group, we have members across many timezones and most of our active members have jobs and families that demand their time and attention. This means group activity can fluctuate, but we aim to provide a friendly and welcoming community that caters to our members needs.

To Protect our members we have a zero tolerance policy for troublemakers, attention seekers and drama queens. We want Older Gamer to be a plesant experience for all.

On a side note: many members requesting to join the group do not have their games listed on their profile.  This is most often unintentional on your part since Steam changed the default privacy settings at some point in 2018 and hid this information.  Since you are looking to join a social gaming group here, it only makes sense for you to edit your profile -> privacy settings to allow folks to see what you're playing (unless, of course, you feel strongly about not advertising your gaming preferences)

Hi guys, I'm a 50 year old gamer, I started gaming early and have continued throughout my adult life. I've gamed with my kids now and it brings us together, even when they are far away. I have RA and sometimes it is hard to play some of the newer games. I'm always looking for suggestions for fun and challenging games that don't require a lot of dexterity, turn based RPG and strategy games. Thank you for the invite!

Hi, I was eleven years old when i got my spectrum 128, it was super futuristic because the tape deck was built in, so i was certain everything would load unlike on my spectrum 48k.

It was being too poor to afford games and having to code them from Your Sinclair magazine that i think led me into the IT industry many years later, where i learned coding was actually easier when you had a copy & paste function.

...i would like to continue but i can't really think of anything else interesting in the early years...i had an amiga 500, which was very, very expensive according to my parents at the time. Astonishingly, the path-finding on the original carrier command was better than carrier command gaia mission. Though that's hardly a challenge.

I enjoy Rescue at Rigel, Star Warrior and long walks on the beach while playing Crush, Crumble and Chomp. I never say no to The Bilestoad and can sometimes be found playing Autoduel when not writing to Lord British.

Hey ya all o/

I just recently hit my another magical landmark of reaching to age 40, just a few weeks ago. Haven't got any emotional turmoil from that, but then again I recon I managed to experience every age crisis at once when I got to my thirties :D

I'm from Finland, and I've been a gamer since age of 4 when I got my hands on my older brothers commodore 64, and been hooked for gaming ever since.

Currently I'm out of job, and I don't have a family to speak of beside my still living parents. So I've been keeping my hobby for gaming alive and well, but also been a look out for a mate to share my gaming passions, hence I'm here now :). And in all honesty, it really feels that there aren't many platforms for old timer like us, so I'm glad I found this group.

But yeh, I'm in a look out for good spirited folks that haven't fallen to nihilism yet, but instead still "fighting the good fight" so to speak :). And when it comes to games, I'm always happy to try something new (although I'm pretty much done with the 1st person zombie survival shooter-games for now).

Personally I would like to dwell deeper in to smaller scale indie co-op games, but point being, I'm totally open minded when it comes to gaming.

Hi, I am currently living in the Bay Area in Cali. I started gaming waaay back in the day! Lets see, Atari 2600, Intellivision, Colecovision. I guess i aged myself right there. Commodore 64 was when things got serious and all nighters would happen. Ultima IV Quest of the Avatar, pizza, soda,chips! Those were the dayz and these are still the days! 40+ years gaming and going strong!
