OLD way: VorpX

Vorpx is a software that let you project your flatscreen games into your vr headset.
On some game you can only see a huge screen in front of you with stereoscopic 3d, on some other you might be able to get 360 view of the scene. Don't expect to be able to se your hands in game tho.

This channel has been made for people that are interested about it to talk about their game on which they think vorpx works best, but also in order to make the search about "how to tinker (a part important in getting a great experience) the program" easier.

• VorpX is a ~$40 tool you can use to play almost any game in VR.
• However it might take a lot of effort to make it work in VR (some people give up trying)

I've SERIOUSLY thought of getting this. I know the challenge of it is that it doesn't work on everything and it sometimes requires a lot of trial and error.

So the idea of a page to capture all that knowledge, and make it easier for people to get help in it, might just win me over to it!

How much have you yourself used it @quidnunc? Can you give us an idea of how much setup tweaking it takes to make it work? I hear even some games made in 3D engines can be near (or literally) impossible.

I'd love to play things like Tomb Raider in VR 3rd person to be honest. Heck, and even things like PUBG & Rocket League! But I paid less than HALF the cost for these games, then for that app.

It's a bit difficult to trust a $40 app that gives no demo, no Steam backed refund, and almost nobody in our group seems to have had a ton of success with. But maybe those few, just needed a bit more help.

So, when you use the apps and apply the OLD driver, do you have to then go and re-apply the "latest" driver manually? Or do these apps make the old version of the driver self un-apply once I'm done playing the 2D game?

Vorpx can be buggy but if you play the games listed as supported, it opens up a whole new level of VR games.
