Gamers at Heart.

Hi guys.

I'm putting this message out over a few different mediums to try and reach as many of you as I can.

It's been a long time since the old heydays of jarHedz and the world has changed a great deal and, of course, so have we, but one thing remains the same (for most of us) however and that is that we're still gamers at heart.

But; I think we've lost something fundamental in this age of facebook, twitter, tumblr etc. and that is the idea of community. Facebook Groups are fine and all that but they don't really lend themselves well to discussion, it's all "challenge-response" (or post and like to put it another way) not a dialog where you can share views and opinions with like-minded people - in other words, you can't build a community out of it.

Sure there are lots of gaming sites out there but there aren't that many "gaming communities" - what I mean by that is a broad community not dedicated to a single game or to a single group of people like a clan. That's what jarHedz always was, something more than just a place for one game or one clan to hang out...

I miss that. I really do. I don't think my world's a better place for not having a bunch of people (who may not always see eye-to-eye it's true) who are my online comrades in arms, my wingmen, my competition, my challengers and ultimately my friends.

Therefore, I've set about doing something about it. I've re-created jarHedz. Not as an ezine, not as a fancy gaming blog site, not as a facebook group, but as a simple forum where we can log on, chat about the games we like (or whatever else takes our fancy) and enjoy gaming with each other like the old days (but much better since the number and quality of games out there at the moment and coming soon are phenomenal).

In due course, if it takes off, then we'll do things like run TS servers and possibly even game-servers again but for a start, I'd just like to spread the word to the old school (you) and hope that you will spread the word on to anyone else.

So, what about it? Fancy getting some of the old band back together? (and bringing in some new blood too!)
