alt enter chages esolution and won't change it back

For some reason alt enter will change the steam remote play client to windowed, but then pressing it again does not correctly enter it back in full screen but rather some weird off resolution full screen

By the way I am using steam remote play to control my computer remotely, but I will note the game I'm using to get to that stage is stellaris.
By the way the server os is arch linux, client is fedora 36
