either using steam streaming speakers (check windows audio devices, disable all unused devices, and enable streaming speakers, windows has trouble switching between more than 2 devices)
or from windows volume mixer, make sure steam client/bootsrapper volume is maxed
Hi, and thanks for responding so quickly. Unfortunately I had just tried this right now, and i have only the steam streaming speakers enabled and the volume mixer's steam client/bootstrapper is fully turned up. Not sure what else to do :(
do you get menu and other sounds on the client when not streaming?
Seems like this has been an issue for years at this point so I'm hoping someone can help. For what it's worth I have a Sound Blaster Audigy FX soundcard. Tried the suggested solutions in this thread so far and some others (disabling playback devices, setting different ones as default, using setting "play sound on host machine") with no results. My host machine shows sound activity visually in the sound panel coming into Steam Streaming Speakers, but I don't hear anything on the client.
but they stop sound from going to the primary audio device on the host
if you do not want to use them, disable streaming speakers
and its always a good idea to disable all unused sound devices, so windows can easily switch between 2 commonly used ones
I had some problems with surround sound and uninstall them from the device manager on W10 and now cannot make them reappear, tried reinstalling steam, starting multiple streams, installing the .inf of the github page, nothing, I'm getting sound, Host detects 6 channels but client detects 2 :S gonna keep trying if I find a fix.
BTW, maybe you could share the streaming.log file to see what could be happening with your case.
tick both of these
