Steam Trading Cards recently marked their 10th birthday on Monday, May 15th. What initially began with cards, badges, emoticons, and backgrounds has evolved into a diverse range of items over the past decade. Valve has continuously expanded the collection to include animated stickers, animated backgrounds, animated mini backgrounds, animated avatars, avatar frames, profiles, and even keyboard themes and startup movies for the Steam Deck.

Initially available for only five games, the program has steadily grown to support over 12.000 games, each featuring at least one of these item types. While not all games include cards, the majority have incorporated them into their gameplay and rewards systems. The SteamCardExchange showcase proudly hosts an extensive collection, comprising over 86.500 cards, ~62.000 badges, ~12.300 foil badges, ~72.000 emoticons, and nearly 55,000 backgrounds. Additionally, the showcase boasts over 1.100 animated stickers, ~700 animated backgrounds, ~570 animated mini backgrounds, almost 1.300 animated avatars, around 800 avatar frames, 73 custom profiles, 12 keyboard themes, and 21 startup movies.

Coinciding with this milestone, we has also unveiled a "new" website design that has been optimized for mobile browsing, but don't worry, we did not forget PC users. The newly unveiled design, while still embracing its familiar aesthetic, has finally emerged from the technological Stone Age to deliver an optimized and user-friendly experience across various devices. As the website approaches its own 10th anniversary in a few weeks, it continues to maintain a stable level of popularity. Notably, peak visitor traffic is often observed during sales events when users eagerly explore the event badges and items.

While the new design aims to enhance usability and accessibility, it is important to acknowledge that no design is perfect right out of the gate. In recognition of this, we acknowledges that the new design still requires some additional improvements and fine-tuning. We are actively gathering user feedback and try to improve the new design based on it.
