Marking "no offers" but still getting them
So as you can see in my wishlist[barter.vg] I have a large amount (over a third) of "no offers" tagged games. I keep getting offers for them.

Example: https://barter.vg/u/11b4/o/2113119/

Am I doing something wrong? is there another way, short of removing them manually, of blocking offers for games?

Thanks in advanced :)

No Offers was designed for tradables and does not work on the wishlist.

The plan to change it so it will work on both tradable and wishlist. Here are the planned differences between the two options:

No Offers
  • designed to reduce the number of inequitable, lottery-ticket-type offers
  • you can select the game in offers, but the other side cannot
  • does appear on game profile pages
  • will not count as a mutual match, but will appears in matches

0 quantity
  • designed to fix sync issues, and allow for Barter and Steam wishlists to differ
  • neither side can add x0 games to offers
  • does not appear on game profile pages
  • does not appear in any matches

I think that tag is just a tag to let other people know, but it doesn't hide the games. The way to hide games you own or want from being offered in trades is to set their tradable count to 0. Once you want to trade them, set quanity back to 1 or higher if you have more copies.

This is so not intuitive - the "no offers" tag clearly says in its tool-tip
"Others cannot send an offer including games with this tag" but turns out, at least in my experience it doesn't do that. Setting it to 0 does the trick, but this should be made clearer or at least make a tag that actually work.
Thanks for helping me out!

Indeed, this is inconsistent with items tagged "no offers" on tradables, in which case the tag will work as expected. This has been reported already to the admin. For the time being, the workaround suggested by Ivien will do the trick. Happy trading!
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Sorry for the delay in my response.

Barter, I really appreciate that you took the time to answer me directly and actually addressing
the issue with a future update. The work you're doing on this site is great.

I wish Barter.vg had many active traders* as SteamTrades has since feature-wise, it's far superior. The issues that I think that hinder it are that those great features aren't intuitive and the site visual design is outdated. ST minimalistic/clean design is more inviting for the casual trader.

*that's my personal experience, I don't have actual statistic of the user base

ST is minimalistic/clean *because* it has 0 features. Barter is just less known, would benefit from a tutorial/help page though, that's true.

I got offer for game tagged "wishlist x0", possible reason is that it was Multiple Users offer: https://barter.vg/u/64d/o/2142164/

I reproduced the bug, identified the defect in the code, and it should work correctly now.

Ryse: Son of Rome added to tradable and Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! to wishlist. The multiple user offer appeared. Set Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! to x0, and the offer remained.

There are 3 database queries to check for offers. Two of them are related to the multi user offers. In the query that compares the games offered with wishlist, I changed the query to only select wishlist games with > 0 quantity. This appears to have fixed the problem.
