The stage is being set for a 1760 start date in the height of the Seven Years' War (also known as the French and Indian War). King George II is dead, and the Prince of Wales is ready to succeed his father as the rightful ruler of an Empire in the middle of an international war.

The colonies in the Americas are at each other's throats fighting frontier skirmishes and large scale European style battles over swaths of land. Prussian forces under Frederick the Great are trying to fend off Austrian, French, and Russian armies. Britain, their Prussian allies, and the subjugated Hannoverians are fighting a war from all directions.

All the while, Great Britain is facing an internal revolutionary change in it’s political system through Parliament. For half a century the Whig Party has managed to remain in power by suppressing and crushing the Tory Party (its main political rival), and by limiting the monarchy's authority to an absolute minimum. However, with the succession of the ambitious new King to the Throne, the political landscape is expected to change drastically. Through Royal influence, the Whig Party has become increasingly divided, consisting of many factions, with some who are only Whigs by name, but Tories by heart. Will the monarchy maintain and grow it’s influence? Can the Tory Party get back into power? Or will the Whigs continue to rule with an iron fist?
