Any appeal without a link to your SourceBans info will NOT be addressed until it is included.
Your (and any account linked to you) profile[imgur.com]inventory[imgur.com] and game details must be set to public or else you cannot appeal.

In the interests of time, and since we share mostly similar unban practices, I've used Steamrep's guidelines for the unban process.

Lying in an appeal will be an auto-deny.

Let's define lying:

• Factual lying.
  
• Intentionally omitting information (leaving out details that we would be interested in, or even directly asked for)
  
• Implying something else other then the truth.

This is often misunderstood. When we ask questions, we usually know the answers already. When answers mismatch with what we know, we investigate further and establish that you were either lying or telling the truth.
Don't dig yourself a hole you can't come out of. Just tell the truth, it's easier for both you and us.

Be straightforward.

If the staff think you are hiding something, that will have a negative impact on your appeal. When questions are asked, answer them to the fullest extent of your knowledge. Even if you think it's not relevant. Admins do NOT have the time to try to dig out every snippet of some information they want. Explain it to the closest detail you know.

Account Ownership

Buying/selling/trading/lending or any transfer of steam account ownership does not negate a ban/mute/gag, nor are you able to appeal for the account. Your account is your responsibility, that's Valve's stance and that is our stance.

To be extremely explicit: using "someone else in my household was on my pc at the time of the ban" will not be an acceptable reason to appeal.

What are Alts?

On some appeals, you will be asked to provide alternate account information:

• Any account that you own or have owned in the past.
  
• Any accounts that you have access to.
  
• Any accounts that can be linked to you even if not yours, such as your sister/friend/mom/dog's account.

You will also have to to explain your relationship/association to those accounts in detail. If you omit information here, while we see otherwise (see point 1 about lying) the ONLY explanation to us is that those are alts, and that you are trying to hide them from us.

Threats, abusive conversations, ect., harm your appeal!

Admins can terminate any communication due to threats or harassment, and then determine the appeal outcome in private.
We do so many appeals, and this community can be somewhat sarcastic and rude, that we don't need more negative stuff added to the discussions in our appeals. We try and be respectful, but we're still human. Treat us with respect, and a lot more is possible. All admins have the instruction that if they're harassed, they're to reject the appeal straight away. Most of us have a thick skin, so a bit of bad language is often not a problem, but still, don't do it.

Sooo, I was banned for alleged 'threatening to trace IP'
Much to one's knowledge, I've got absolutely NO clue as to how one actually does this.
The person whom filed this complaint against me decided to stir trouble , so I initiated some silly banter back. In the process, I proceeded to add them, and they refused, and immediately began making ludicruous claims like I would use some ridiuclous program to track their IP. I had to actually Google the application they mentioned - of which I've even forgotten the name of because it was stupid. Wire...something - and even then, I've still no clue what it does of how it's worked. The person who has reported me is a liar and was complaining about micspam so that they could micspam instead, and on top of that, they constantly spammed the server with msay and hsay bubbles instead of using chat.

The person I am referenceing is '<3 Sweetie Bot <3'

Sweetie told someone to stop overspamming, and you got upset at him, and started telling him about WireShark. And sweetie isn't stupid. So he filed the complaint because he knows as well as others that you are not supposed to threaten to trace peoples IP. He later noticed that you added him, which is just rediculous. He refused to accept your friend request because he obviously didn't want to get ip traced. And what do you do? You and a friend spam his wall with threats. "add me bro i have wireshark i promise i wont trace you."

After you started to spam his wall, it was no longer a matter of "maybe tracing his ip, maybe not. Maybe he's joking but we don't know", it was a matter of cyberbullying. Both which are frowned upon. And the fact that you lie abut what happened above and expect anyone to believe it is very disappointing.

Appeal denied.

I have NEVER heard of WireShark in my entire life. I added Sweetie and immediately, he began saying that I was going to boot up WireShark and trace his IP. I NEVER instigated such an obtuse and ridiculous claim.
Again, check the logs, because I never ONCE mentioned about wireShark. that was LITERALLY all Sweetie. So, just because you know your donors, doesn't mean they're telling the truth, because Sweetie most definitely isn't.
Also, I only commented a single time on Sweetie's wall as a mere joke.

In order to check the logs, we have to know what server and what time the conversation took place. We have 7 servers and that makes it way to hard to check logs on every server when we don't even know when that happened.

If you cannot provide the server and time then your appeal will have to be changed back to denied.

I added him and talked to him. The following resulted from our conversation:

Alright, so due to no evidence that you brought up the ip tracing device first, and no evidence that you were suspected of using any illegal program, and no evidence that you spammed his profile more than once, and no evidence to support your ban, your ban appeal has been accepted.

For future reference - lets not bring up ip tracing, even if someone else brings it up first. And lets keep arguments, and profile spaming from minimum to none. That means no threatening, no sarcasm, no bullshit.
