Introduction

The Reddit Cup is a tournament where both premade teams AND players are able to sign-up. Players who sign up alone, or with a duo partner, will be assigned to teams with players of a similar skill level, while the premade teams will provide their full roster. After all the teams have been created and signed up, teams will be split into two different divisions: The Amateur Division and the Elite Division. This is to ensure that players of all skill levels can participate without being unfairly matched. Teams will be split based on TNP ELO, our ranking system which is based off of players Competitive Matchmaking Rank. Once the teams have been split into their two divisions, a bracket will be constructed for each division. Each division will have a 16 team single elimination bracket. Each division will play their bracket out until a winner is crowned for each. THE TOURNAMENT IS STILL GOING TO REMAIN NORTH AMERICAN ONLY. I LOVE YOU GUYS IN EU PLEASE DON'T HATE US :(

Changes to RC III

1) Qualifier Tournament
Due to the high amount of registration numbers we normally receive, we felt that limiting the amount of teams was the correct move. However, this meant dozens of players were left out of participation. To rectify this, we have decided to add a Qualifier one week prior to the event. More information will be released about the Qualifier this upcoming week via a Reddit Post.

2) Removing Duo Queue Option
This might be an unpopular decision, however it is one we felt was necessary to maintain proper balance of teams. In previous Reddit Cups, we were put into instances where some teams consisted of one solo queue player, and 2 who had signed up with a duo queue partner while others had only one pair or none. We feel that making everyone sign up solo not only promotes what this tournament is about (Meeting new people, making friends and kicking ass) but it also eases the burden slightly on us team balancing wise. We know from the past that the solo / duo teams are very hit or miss and hope this change balances out the competition.

3) Improved Reddit Cup Staff / Team Communication
One thing that we have been looking to improve is our ways of communication with teams throughout the tournament. To improve this aspect, we are going to contact Team Officials and request an official Skype Contact prior to the Qualifier Tournament. We feel that this should make communication much easier between both parties and help smooth out the pacing of the tournament (start games faster, less commercials etc.)
