Server is online & Wiped

The server is finally online after two days of being offline due to the DDoS and game patch.

When I ran around the server, everything was decayed. So, I decided to wipe the server. To prevent everything being decayed, in case this incident happens again. I downloaded an anti-decay plugin. If the community wants to go back to the last map. I will restore it.

Network Outage & Community

We currently have some network issues at our data centers, we are working to restore the services as fast as we can and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Affected machines are: atl26, atl28, chg21, dal05, dal10, dal13, dal15, dal16, lax32, lax42, mia20, pho04, sa28, sea11, sea22, sjo17, sjo18 and wdc11.

We have identified the type of attack and we are getting our data centers to add more filters to stop the attacks from happening.

We're seeing intermittent issues with Clanforge and a few other Multiplay services, this will make the Clanforge control panel, and a few other sites unusable at this time; We have added this newspost to make users aware they may not be able to make changes to their service at this time.

Also, there was one guy in our server that was posing as adapt. Before any reports are made about someone, check their Steam community page to verify if it's the real person.

Server is now online / Fall damage

EDIT: I can't turn on the server. They are still doing the update, slowly... Other people that have the same game server provider are having the same problem. Our oxide is still 1.8.2 and with that being said. It won't be able read the map.

After waiting at least 9 hours. The server has finally came up and hopefully this doesn't happen again. This isn't just this server that wasn't updated, it was all servers around the world with Oxide inside of it. Now that the game finally had a patch with the fall damage & suicide exploit fixed, I decided it's time to enable fall damage again.

Updates on Rust 1/20/2014

An attempt was made to fix ghost/desync
Fall damage & suicide exploit fixed
Reduced lag when entering areas with lots of objects in them (big structures)
Rubber banding/network correction is a bit smarter
Laser/Flashlight on bolt action rifle/revolver are now fixed and point forward

Rust update

To let the community know what is going on. This is connected to adapt's announcement, this just has more details on the situtation. This post will be updated everytime there is an update on the status on the server. I will be sure to make another announcement when the server is up. Also, we don't have an estimated time on when it should be online.

A mandatory Rust update has just been released. We're currently rolling out the update to all servers, and all servers will be restarted to pick up the changes.

As Oxide has not been updated yet, we are unable to release the update for Oxide. As such, all Oxide servers will be unconnectable until Oxide is updated.

Update: An update for Oxide has been released, we are currently testing this update and will provide more info here shortly.

Update: We are now rolling out Oxide to our machines please be aware if your server is offline and says "admin locked" this means the update is currently being applied to your machine, if you continue to experience this after an extended period of time please let us know.

Update: We are aware that some servers are still failing to start - we are working on this and will have servers online as soon as possible. This should be resolved in the near future so please refrain from contacting support at least in the coming hour or so." - Aranthos

Server Lag

We aren't sure about what is happening to our server. It is either we are getting DoS or it is the server box. I have recently made a support ticket and I am waiting for a reply. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Oxide 1.82

We are aware of the server turning off randomly. The game server provider has released an update for Oxide 1.82.

"Oxide has released an update of 1.82 and servers will be restarting to apply these update.
Please note a few plugins may break but they are being updated. Main plugins like Doorshare have already been updated to work with 1.8." - Elliott

"As mentioned we still have some more testing to do, if we have to change the release we'll update this post.

Update @ 13:36 - Still testing so we're going to push the update back to 15:00 for the time being.
Update @ 16:45 - Unfortunately we've not been able to push the updates today, due to our QA team finding a few bugs within our dev environment. We have now pushed back these changes until tomorrow morning instead. This will allow our dev team more testing time. The current ETA for Oxide is now 10:00 GMT Friday 17th Jan." - liv3d

Rust Suicide bug

Fall damage is turned off until the next patch.

"It appears that there is a new exploit going around making all your player drop dead. To stop the exploit till patched run this command via RCON or add it to your server config." - Elliott
