If we were talking about the people who actually made the game cutting out any other subsidiaries, their engine is now opensource under the mit licence in that respect.

We recreated a game Disney closed back in 2013 and now it is up and running again due to developers like me who spent years bringing it back We got permission granted from Disney that the only conditions on recreating their game was that zero profit could be made from it if we wanted to use their game content. I suggest if you are truly passionate about doing this, then contact the original owner and see what they say, otherwise you aren't going to be able to do anything, and if you do you are likely to get shutdown pretty fast.
