New DLC: Maximum Security Launches Today

Security is the top priority when working with dangerous inmates. To keep things locked down, we've worked with developer Abylight Studios to bring you a brand-new, content-filled DLC to the engaging Tycoon and Business-sim Prison Tycoon: Under New Management. Titled “Maximum Security,” this expansion extends your prison’s repertoire by adding new types of guards, new prisoners to select, and more. High risk equals high reward and the Maximum Security DLC rewards wardens who take on challenging charges.

In the new Maximum Security DLC for Prison Tycoon: Under New Management, players are tasked with reforming a menacing new type of charge: the Maximum Security Prisoner. To cater to their new guests, wardens have many new tools at their disposal, from laser tracking cameras and high security towers to user-defined patrol paths for new guard types and much more. Can you rise to the challenge and remain steadfast in your goal of rehabilitation?

This DLC includes new K9 units and robot guards, helping the player increase guard efficiency and keep overhead down. And yes, you can pet the dog!



‍New Maximum Security prisoners have a rough look, and they tend to have a complicated past that will require new therapy rooms. Aid in their rehabilitation by addressing their needs while keeping them secure from the general population.



‍New types of inmates come with new challenges to work through. Make use of new therapy types to keep your charges on the track to recovery.



‍The new max security buildings are specially designed for the most dangerous prisoners. Players can build max security cells, max security isolation cells, therapy rooms, and other standard rooms in this new building.



‍Have you ever thought "gee, I wish my guards were just a little bit better?" Well, now there are robot guards to populate your prison. They're more efficient than traditional guards and they are robots!



Guards and K9 units can now follow user-defined patrol paths. You define the path, they patrol the route, and together your prison becomes safer. Stay vigilant.

After serving time in Early Access, this new iteration of the beloved Prison Tycoon franchise is fully rehabilitated to “version 1.0” and launches with a free downloadable content (DLC) pack, dubbed “Roll Call.”

All the elements of a great tycoon game can be found in Under New Management, including finance and resource management, hiring staff, managing workflow and more! As a prison Warden, it is your goal to rehabilitate, not punish, prisoners to turn them into productive members of society. In Under New Management, each inmate must work through their own issues that landed them in prison, and it’s your job to provide them with the help they need to get healthy.



Launching alongside the core game is the free Roll Call DLC, designed with content creators and streamers in mind. This DLC adds exciting personalization features for players, including a new character creation tool allowing them to rename and customize the look of their prisoners and staff. The DLC also introduces new Twitch integrations for streamers that allow them to name incoming inmates based on who is currently in their Twitch chat stream, along with letting them offer Drops that grant special in-game items to viewers.



During the game’s Early Access phase, developers Abylight took into account user feedback adding and refining features players suggested throughout the development process. Inmates can now enjoy visits from family and friends, while would-be Wardens have new tools such as room-cloning (to speed up building similar rooms) and climate-control options to keep things cool! Wardens will face new challenges with a variable number of inmates arriving each day, while worker proficiency, inmate happiness, and facilities maintenance were all rebalanced.
