Yeah I don't really care about achievements either.....They don't have any skill indication, which is what I want to be recognized for, if I play a game.

I am kinda puzzled with Steam Achievements. When I began playing games, it was all about exploration. SS:BR has plenty of that! Why do people want achievements?!

We played between USA and Germany with ping around 200 - 240 and no one was complaining.. As a matter of fact, no one ever complained about lags. The only way lag can happen if people are on dial-up or streaming music or torrents or Netflix while playing Steel Storm.

ToD is a dead meat because we don't see people interested in it. I think opening Kickstarter for it can prove whether I am right or wrong ;)

(More) There is too much damage, it's no fun trying to run around collecting weapons just to die in 1 or 2 seconds from a laggy person, or from someone that creeps up behind you. Lag I think takes all strafe from this mode.
Another sp mission thing. The enemies spawn on top of you. With lag it is hard to survive, and when you die the other guys take your weapons.
Back to ToD. Then I could get into a mission server and wait for a few players, then go into ToD, or check back on the ToD server every few minutes. ToD needs bots too, so it is fun to wait. It is really important to keep the games flowing continuously on this, or else people will see 0 players, and will lose interest, and then the only people to play with are friends.
Also, in CTF it would be nice to know what weapons those terminals will throw out so I don't get stuck with a bad weapon.

As to what I think....
When I first saw the game, I thought it looked cool. The $10 price turned me off, because I think other summer sale/winter sale prices would be better, or other games would also be cheaper. I don't have much money right now, so when I saw the daily deal of $2.50, I jumped on it.
As for the game, the missions are the same once you've beaten them, so doing them over and over sp or mp isn't all that fun, if I were to play this game for a few hours a day.
The CTF and Deathmatch, lag and other countries made it unplayable. I can't understand French, sorry (same for missions). Gameplay wasn't too deep for these modes either, it is just who has the beam. (more on this)
ToD is super awesome. I think the problem is, you have to restart the game and enter that line to run it. Then you can't play the base game. People don't want to sit in the server for a long time. It would have been nice to see all the servers from the normal game.

btw, Steel Storm 2 won't have any Steamworks either.

Not every games has Steamworks integrated. We can't integrate Steamworks because of some technicalities. We can however utilize WebAPI, but that will cost us $10k to create (contractor's pay). It's not feasible if the game isn't selling, DLC isn't selling and we don't have solid community behind the game.
Even once most vocal proponents of the game stopped being active because they got tired to be a locomotive that was trying to pull the inactive community.

AMA and IAmA are 2 subreddits.

but more a personal thing. but some indie devs did this to get attention to the game/franchise. handout some codes for SS1 to get even more attention.

and don´t forgett to link to your homepage/twitter/facebook so that you can bind the ppl to it.
