Hi Bluewizard, thanks for the feedback and for the videos on your channel! I've been watching DRS videos on Youtube, including yours, to catch any potential bugs and to see if there are some things players often struggle with. I noticed it took you quite long to discover how to rotate the camera. I'll take the blame for that, I should have included a conventional tutorial to teach the basics, and I'll fix this omission in one of the future updates. (While holding the mouse button to turn the camera you can also move around from the WASDEQ keys)

The first version of the route editor is intended to be very broad and simple to experiment with large scale automation and to see if it could appeal to trainsimmers who previously haven't created any routes because the editors have been too detailed or complex. Apart from that I fully agree with you and will eventually add more modding features, control over the details and try to match the user friendliness of the Trainz editor.

Little disappointed with the editing tool so far. It's too broad. Too simple. As Lapioware said it needs a way of placing individual assets. A way to get down to ground level, to zoom right in to place each individual bit of scenery. With Trainz most of my enjoyment is building routes. I spend hours... days.. honestly weeks doing it. I've even created two YouTube series with me just creating routes in Trainz (YouTube.com/c/bluewizard) . The editor can become a game mode just by itself. It could really make this game into something very special. Take it slowly, get it right. Don't forget to add in mod support in once the editor is done. Something like 80% of Trainz assets are mods. This game has lots of potential. Overall. Great work with the game. My YouTube channel is tiny but when people see Mr driving this game (badly) the feedback about the game is always positive.

That's probably true! The editor still needs a tool for placing individual special buildings like signal boxes etc.

Honestly, I think a lot of people will be just fine having easy creation. I'm no professional mapmaker, so not needing to place and rotate every single building is a plus in my book :P
