In order to run the game on Win11 you need to cap your system FPS at 60 (ex. change your refresh rate and enable global vsync in nvidia control panel)

This game is a classic within the stealth genre and gave Hitman the status it has in the video game scene. In my opinion, it is a truly flawed masterpiece, where the pros far outweigh the cons. The first game in the series (Hitman: Codename 47) had good ideas but was poorly executed. It was in Hitman 2: Silent Assassin where they were truly able to execute this ideas to the fullest, delivering a timeless experience.

- This game introduced truly functional stealth mechanics, improved the menus, interfaces and the map.
- Statistics and ranks were introduced in a detailed way, giving a huge opportunity for replayability and speedrunning.
- The game has much improved dialogues and characters. Diana was finally introduced as she deserves.
- The maps are very diverse (and look amazing still to this day) and their size is much more reasonable.
- The music is probably one of the best things the game has to offer, one of the best soundtracks I've ever seen.
- Solutions of the levels are quite intuitive with enough exploration and retries. 47 is more resilient and enemies don't obliterate you as much, making Rambo-type routes more viable (and fun).
- Finally, different viable stealth routes per level were introduced, in contrast with the previous game. And not only that, saves were introduced which made retrying more tolerable.

It seemed they really playtested this game and learned from the mistakes of Codename 47. However, not everything is perfect.

- The stealth and alert systems in this game are VERY punishing. You'll find yourself saying "NOW WHAT DID I DO?" 100 times per attempt. Running, being close to someone and trespassing are sins punishable by death. Alerts can still spread like wildfire. Disguises are useless in some levels. The best you can do is just be paranoid all the time, avoid running on enemy sight, and hope for the best. I honestly love that this make the game more difficult, you still have saves so it's not that bad (although walking basically all the time is not very cool), but it can get frustrating, especially for new players. I think the developers noticed this and made the stealth system be more fair in the following games.
- A consequence of how unfair the alert system is the infamous "Hidden Valley" mission, with a really questionable game design to say the least. A stealthy route in this level is extremely difficult (although still possible), all due to a horrible alert system and a stupid bug with the trucks. Another questionable mission for me is "Temple City Ambush" which relies so much on RNG and guessing due to lack of information.
- Hiding bodies is still veeeery slow, at least this changes in the following games. I don't like at all how anesthetics and night vision are designed. The first one is weird, unintuitive and has a VERY long and unnecessary animation, also thank God this changes in the following games with the addition of syringes. The other one has a unnecessary tunnel vission sight that is so annoying.

Anyways, sure it might be a bit frustrating and punishing at times, but it is totally worth it. It still has that innate difficulty of older games but with plenty QoL features, so it's not unbearable. Absolutely recommended.
