So a quick question, absolutely love this game btw. top five all time personally. are there bugs with children spawning from different races? goblin/human child events seem to spawn a human or goblin child but this is not the case with other creatures. Orc/Orc spawning seems to work as well just not with humans or other races. Have not tested Elfs other than Elf/Human does not work (kind of rude on the Elfs part). I have also tested dwarf/dwarf but i have not seen a child event yet after close to a 100 turns with very low population in turns 1000 (they were both males but i do not know if the equation cares about their gender). is this a known bug or just my game? i would really love to have a "Orc" playthorugh or anything other than human! thank you for this amazing game.

In the simplest terms, There were 2 types of material generated for fuel. Now on the first island there is only 1 type. So there are considerably less places to create a village. This forces you to make your first town on a second island unless you get real lucky with resource placement on the first island.

I get why you felt that coal was op however you did not account for coals more basic benefits
The lumber mill NEEDS to generate a net positive of wood now or else you cannot supply your expeditions to go to the other islands in a low period of time.

TLDR: In this patch they made sure that you cannot statistically survive on the first island, while doing nothing to increase your chances on other islands

This patch has made the start of a new game almost unplayable even on the easiest settings. I have tried starting several new games since this update and each time I get killed or take massive loses in the first 12 turns every single time even though it is on the easy settings. I loved Thea 1 and I loved Thea 2 until this last update, please return the game to it's earlier starting conditions OR please add in the settings an option to select how easy\hard the Starting Island is at the beginning of each new game.

I'm kinda finding this patch to be Thea 2: The Starving ;) Seriously, my play is completely stagnated while I try to collect food and lumber at the expense of every thing else to keep from dying. I only last as long as I can stay away from a high level fight - because I cannot afford the turns to explore or make equipment without starving.
