There has to be a better way of limiting fake game and help small indie devs as without trading cards as one of the many incentives, people will be less likely to try out indie games that have potential to be good. Hopefully there is a better solution in the future!

If it's "devs run bots to idle&get the cards" - then it's just a delay to reach the threshold, an (in)significant expenses increase. If it's the community-driven thing - no expenses increase for devs.
I'd consider something like "after each X000 free keys you must make X00 sales and then you can issue more keys".

"This only hurts small Indie devs that just aren't getting slaes for whatever reason. Many times it is a good game, but not great. Worthy of having trading cards to help the developer earn more money, and in many cases get players to TRY their games in the first place."

Have to agree to this one. At least Vavle should tell us the developers what that confidence metric is. For now I have no legit reason for why I'm not allowed to create trading cards for the players of my game (SLICE).

My game that I've spent 14 months working on with 999 levels (https://store.steampowered.com/app/876840/999/) has been tagged with the ominous "steam is leaning about this game" tag - I think because there are 126 achievements, but with that many levels and bits and bobs then of course there's going to be a lot of achievements - how long does this tag usually last?

Have not had trading cards on any game iv made after the bomb dropped. Now something thats nothing is somehow becoming less. Okay, let's just stop. Why not let there be bad actors? They are making money, your making money and the only way they are making money is by selling something. A key, a game.. Who cares. If people are buying then why would you shut the market out? I'm upset b/c these rules more or less stop small games from using trading cards to get more game sales, but your not gonna stop the real fakers. The real fakers know your updates, know the loop holes, so your no hurting them.

bad games will always be around and released i guess it has nothinb to do with steam trading cards, unless............ they can get more games 100% FREE because of collecting trading cards.... games should be paid for , should not be free unless it is free for all , but those are called the Free games.
Anyway if i like or want a game i BUY it :steamhappy:

Valve should remove the steam trading card restriction. Crappy games are still being released now, more then ever. This card restriction just hurts everyone involved.

There is no more Greenlight, so why we still have this cards restriction?
