Good Good....

Just chatted to our dev guys who worked with Outerlight - looks like BGT reverted to Ubisoft when Outerlight went out of business.

Interestingly though, we've put together quite a detailed background for Mr X as part of the prep work for moving the franchise forward. None of this is currently in Remasted (or is planned to be added), and a little is hinted at in Lucy's Diary. But it's entirely possible we explore Mr X more, although I would suspect he will also be a mysterious figure in the shadows. ;)

@A Pointed Stick - there are no plans to add in a single player campaign just now. In terms of details (easter eggs, etc) there's some hinting that is from the original and we've added some other things of our own (but nothing major).

Lucy's Diary is a standalone thing just now, but depending on the feedback we get about it, we may layer some of the detail into the game (in a superficial way). We enjoyed creating the microsite though, so there's scope for it to be expanded in the future.

Not sure who owns BGT currently as we've had nothing to do with it (nor looked into it). I suspect the Mr / Director relationship was nothing more than a macguffin though.

Either Blazing Griffin now own it, as some developers of Outerlight moved onto Blazing Griffin, or it's just completely abandoned with no ownership now (Outerlight are not making anymore games, but are still accepting sales for the game - or Ubisoft is getting the money)

Oh and, quick question, who owns "Bloody Good Time"? I ask because Outerlight, the original developers, are no more (technically speaking) and though I know Blazing Griffin got the Ship, there wasn't any word on "Bloody Good Time" which would be a shame if it was a case of Ubisoft holding it ransom. Don't get me wrong, it would have no influence Remasted, given that BGT is contempory times and TS is the 1920s, but the connection between Director X and Mr X was something I wanted to get official word on, plus should Remasted be successful, it would be nice to see what Blazing Griffin could do to develop further with the ideas BGT had (e.g. changing game modes each round, security chases with more open environments etc).

I am curious if The Ship Remasted will have any nods to the Single Player mode of the original, particularly its characters such as Charlie M. Panther. According to Blazing Griffin's Youtube account, Remasted is intended to be "multiplayer only" (which I'd understand seeing the wheelchair escort and the fight at the front end of the Ship were notable points I HATED about single player mode) so I wondered if there was anything in its stead.

Also, I wonder if Lucy's story would have any ties into Remasted, I haven't really read it as it seems to currently be an in-narrative development blog (nice touch, I will say) but it may win some points from avid followers of the game, hopefully to be a whole series.

I'd love a game type similar (or identical) to TTT from gmod, that would be the greatest thing I can imagine!

Seriously... A bigger more robust ship sequel WITH that gametype? Nothing could be better.

When you are close to the release date of #2 you might think about free passes for the ship #1 or $0.99 steam store purchase so many people who dont have the game get to experience the foundation of #2, also I think it would get the players pumped up and ready for the remake. PS: Love this game, It was christmas when I first perchased it years ago, The game was in its prime and I still remember the fealing I had when I first started playing. I am very exited about whats to come!!!

More creative ways to kill people. I remember alot of The Ship maps had little sliding doors you could hide in and wait for someone to drop the soap in the shower before you come in like "What up hater?" and give them the most painful nipple cripple ever recorded in the history books. Yeah, more of that kind of stuff
