MechWarrior 2, lol... I remember when it came out it sold out so fast where I was that the price actually was $75-$100 in most locations for a good while :D

haha, right? MW2 was one of the first games I played with my friend over a direct modem connection too.. My parents hated it cuz I'd have the phone lines tied up for hours with it lol. Ah those were the days... <3

Thanks VoidBeast!

MechWarrior 2 made my high school self pine - so hard - for a Pentium 66...

After watching these vids I just had to try this game, and I'm really glad I did... I'm an old-school gamer--as it sounds like you are too, Paul--and I grew up with games like Wing Commander, Privateer, Descent (and Freespace), MechWarrior 2 (which I reference just as an example of another great game that has minimalist graphics), and even Starlancer and Freelancer more recently.

This game, at least the first part of it (I haven't got that far yet) reminds me a whole lot of Freelancer, and that was (or rather "is", especially since Crossfire) one of my favorite games.
It's pretty clear that this is something you are not only developing yourself, but you actually play it too, so you know the little things that make the biggest differences (the mouse return to center function... just.. ingenious. Totally <3 ). So, I am quite interested to see how this evolves and what other new things you've got in store. Definitely on the right track so far! =)

I ike the olde pre-alpha trailer, with the Wanderer to Warlord progression. Maybe just the word Warlord. In any case, I feel the new trailer is a bit cluttered with the HUD on so often, wish there were more footage with the HUD off.

As I said, you likely have enough other things to do - what you answered is just what I meant with that remark.

I only wanted to note that it'd be nice *IF* you should ever have the time/ressources to put it in. If not, then I can understand that. :)

Thanks for the interest!

That would be a huge time/money investment and would be out of scope of the game - the game focuses on ready built ships - like going to a car dealership, versus being the guy/gal on the drafting table.
