@Mathmin @Riamaijin It's a railroad with three tracks and a fourth you can jump to at predetermined, less-than-ideal points in the story Once you've picked a track, while there are still some choices to be made, for the most part you're locked into a destination. A lot of choices get made for you, and perfectly reasonable alternatives are locked out/don't even appear because of a single choice you made hours ago.

It's also very short. Act III feels like most of its content was left on the cutting room floor.

That said, I did enjoy the game, the spell system and companions in particular, and the multiple tracks do provide a lot of replayability.

@Mathmin This is far from a single-track game, there are actually 4 very distinct paths you can take depending on your choices. I assure you that the replayability is exceptional, not to mention that if you explore and read everything each path offers then each will not be short at all. This game is definitely worth it!

I really love Pillars of Eternity, but all the reviews saying that this game is short and a railroad feel very off putting to me. If I'd see a patch saying that the amount of content had drastically gone up I'd probably pick this up, since I'm a big fan and the theme itself looks amazing! Otherwise I feel I'd be very disappointed with a short single track game that ends abruptly.
