I wouldn't give a negative recommendation just because a game isnt' for me, but I thought it totally would be from the ~5 minutes of gameplay trailers on the steam page. "Survival Exploration" it says in the video, where the sailing around looks like the type of classic trading games I used to play and enjoy, and not ONCE in any of the three videos does it show the interface in which I spent the most time: the journal. There is so much finnicky text and reading and options that dont make it clear what to do or where to go and this is where all the actions and decisions take place so it seems like a big part of the game. I don't know if maybe this stops at somepoint and it turns into more sailing mechanics but for being such a prominant interface at least in the beginninig I feel tricked by it not even being shown once in the trailers or screenshots... It's not their fault I don't have the patience or desire for that type of gameplay, but please show me this before I get the game so I can know what to expect...

a bit too slow. I've started a few expeditions but all seem to be a but aimless. the atmoshphere is thick but not a whole lot to do. no idea if I'm pushing stuff along. "unresponsive" open world is the best way to sum it up. overall, this is a miss for me.

As a n00b, I found it a little hard to play at first so I recomend taking a look at the controls in settings menu because there is no tutorial. I am told the thing to say is that it uses Tank Controls which is to say W for go forward and then A and S to turn left or right RELATIVE to the boat, not north south. Once I figured this out it was good.

The atmosphere is AMAZING! The stories you read as you go, the language they use and the tasks you complete paint a picture of a dark world full of wonder but youre not sure you want to ask the question... The art is amazing and very detailed. I am very glad to have the game and look forward to being cursed by all the Gds at once.
