why is the pricing on steam for the bonus amounts so much more? on your website it is $400 for pirate king pack and on steam its like 448 or something like that

Wow. What a silly complaint. "Having my name put in the game for X money is bumming me out because, capitalism." You don't like this? Don't pay for it. Simple, no?

@hellokittyninja It is most definitely an investment in the devs. You could also say that by donating money to have your name put into the game is an investment which increases the game's value and thus could make the game, and the time people invest into it, more valuable to them. You can invest in more than just personal profit, and you can value more than just money.

@avil, it's not an investment. An investment is something that (hopefully) maintains or increases its value. Unless they're giving you stock in the company or a percentage of the profits from the product, it's not an investment. Crowdfunding is almost all donation or pre-sale. I've never seen one where there's an equity reward for contributing.

And that's OK.

I'm not sure exactly what @kespeppercorn is complaining about. I mean, how may products are there in the world that don't interest you or are priced way more than you're interested in paying? Per-feature crowdsourcing isn't a bad idea, though. Why not do both? Let people pay/donate for a vanity reward, AND have more directed fundraising for expanded features.

That is a "COPY AND PASTE WORKSHOP TAKEOVER." Please report it to staff to stop its evil plot. Please hand-write a similar message wherever you see a workshop takeover to stop them.

@kespeppercorn - Who is it exploiting? People have to *willingly* pay to put their name in the game for everyone if they want to, the reason the price is that high is so that not everyone does it.

Stop being ridiculous.
avil Sep 19, 2016 @ 2:44am
@kespeppercorn because it's not a donation, it's investment. Did you ever heard abour indigogo or kickstarter?
ChromeMax Sep 18, 2016 @ 1:24pm
@kespeppercorn It's meant to be a form of donation, not a feature. If you really wanted your name in the game, just rename a colonist. Are we all now supposed to whine because the BF1 Premium edition is 70 bucks? No. Stop acting like a baby.
