Kickstarter, Early Access and the Price

Our pricing for this stage of early access was determined by our Kickstarter. The stages of our early access for ALL users, which was determined during our Kickstarter, is:

June through August: $90 for early alpha access, during the time where we're still locking down features and making tweaks to the flow of the game. This access is permanent access - you will be able to play through alpha, beta and on through retail. (Galactic Edition Equivalent with all included perks)

September through November: $60 for beta access. The game will be much more complete at this time, but with a lot of balance work still to do and more optimizations to get it working on as many systems as possible. Same as above, this is beta and turns into a retail version on launch. (Warfare edition equivalent with all included perks)

Retail: December 2013 (Combat edition equivalent)

This is the pricing determined over a year ago. Our Kickstarter set these levels, and while we understand people may not like it, it's the decision we had to make.

But that is the schedule if you want to wait until the price drops to a level you're more comfortable with.

I think what people arn't realizing is that the pricing is like this so that it doesn't turn into "minecraft" during alpha and beta so that only ddicated people get the game and not just people who want it cheap.

I was amazed by how cool the game looked but that was as much as disappointed by how much it costs. Almost bought it. Price kept me away.

Its reasonable that there is a topic with over 3,500 angry comments here. There is no excuse for such a high cost. I'm looking forward for a sale or something like that, though.

Good luck getting sales with this dumb price. God damnit, the game looks FUCKING AMAZING, but the price totally kills it.

Are you shitting me? You want people to get the game and get sales? Then make early acces 20€, Beta 40€ and Release price 60€, not like this. It's so dumb, you guys seem to have no brain at all.

Even then, if the kickstarters paid as much as they did, and got an advanced edition, Why charge the same for the steam users, who are appealing to a lower common denominator? They could reduce the price for the basic edition for a pre-order, and if anyone instead wanted to buy a better edition, go to UberNet and buy it there.

@TheManMountain: because on Kickstarter it's supporting (or investing), where people can throw as much money as they want to at the game, but here, you are paying for the product, you are customer here, not supporter, and they set the price for their product way too high. That's some EA-like business here, not to mention the lack of discount on summer sale. Oh well.

Just reading through the comments and they made me chuckle.
Game too expensive? don't buy it, it's going to get cheaper, this is a pricing guide based on their kickstarter campaign - why should you feel entitled to buy a game for half that price when people who invested from day 1 have to pay more for the same thing?
The wonderful illogical world of gamers these days always baffles me.

I look forward to playing this game, but not at the current price... so I shall wait, can't wait for it to go cheaper (even tempted to fork out at beta level).
