"teleporting zombies"... Wait, whut???? I've never even SEEN a zombie in the standalone release! What server are zombies on?

5 years on... maybe you could fix the idiotic teleporting zombies that can hit you through walls, before queuing up any other development goals.

I don't see how PUBG could do that. Sure, the environment is similar, but that's about it- a cosmetic similarity.
PUBG has matches, a defined amount of time in which the players have to gear up, nut up and cut up. Sure, it's great for somebody who basically wants to play a third-person Battlefield, but there's no real longevity.
DayZ, on the other hand, allows the player to survive for as long as they are capable in a world where an infection on the smallest cut can kill you if left untreated. The only limit on how long your character survives for is you as the player.

In short, the two games don't compare. They're both great, but they're not the same.

@timmonsisold66 it already is no longer relevant.. PUBG destroyed any chance this Dayz game had

"I'm going to be very straightforward: along with releasing 0.62 Stable, it has been our main internal goal to get 0.63 Experimental out this year (as mentioned in Status Report on April 18) - we have put pretty much all our resources on that task, but as of now, we already know that the scope we will be able to achieve by the end of 2017 does not represent a full DayZ experience, and therefore blocks the 0.63 Experimental release.."

:steamfacepalm: By the time you folks get this done the game will no longer be relevent or draw the crowd it once had. You jumped on the early "rip off" access train and folks got bored of the wait and went to other games. Shoulda kept it under wraps for a few extra years it seems.

Still waiting for offline/SP mode.

I stopped playing a year or so ago. Have the zombies been fixed yet?

This game is basically dead. Not completely, but the dream of ever having 100K players online at one time is basically LONG GONE. After 4 whole years of development, the 0.63 update BETTER BE NOTHING LESS THAN AMAZING.

Vehicles have been in the game for years.

VEHICLES HAVE STILL NOT BEEN IMPLEMENTED? I'm flabbergasted. This is a paid game that has been in development for over 4 years with a professional studio behind it...? I supported the game when it was a mod and was EXTREMELY excited about the standalone game, but the progress reports I occasionally check in on from time to time talk about the same things being implemented. Nothing is special about DayZ that would take this long, and on top of that, there are many games that have taken the concept and expanded upon it.

I would be hesitant to let Bohemia work on the development team of a free mod.
