INCISION joins Brutal Indies Unleashed 2025 – and a big update is on the way!

Prepare for the slaughter - INCISION is part of Brutal Indies Unleashed 2025, the ultimate showcase of the most violent, unapologetically brutal indie games out there.

But that’s not all. SmoothBrainDev is cooking up a major update for INCISION, with features like:

Huge 50% damage buff to Omenstrike Railgun with a smaller ammo capacity. The weapon was always intended to be the heavy enemy killer after all.
Crosshair styles and colors, including hitmarkers for better clarity.
Death pits won't result to instant death anymore. Instead they cut 50% of player's current HP and cannot result in death even at 1 HP.
Readjustments to enemy projectile speed and damage to avoid making early game enemies feel too OP, especially the Sycophants and their new melee attack.
Fixes to music issues in E1M3 and E1M4

INCISION Has Just Left Early Access

Carnage has arrived

Today is the day, INCISION has just left Early Access and it is now in-front of you in all of its gruesome glory! It has been a long road since 2022 and all of this would not be possible without your help!

To celebrate this final cut, we are keeping the current price of INCISION for 30 days from now - hell we will throw in an additional 30% discount in addition. After the above mentioned period, the game’s price will rise to 19.99$

We believe this new price better reflects what INCISION has to offer in its full 1.0 version. Furthermore, this will also secure the future of INCISION and its updates

The Future

For the time being SmoothBrainDev will be taking a short and well deserved rest. In the meantime you can expect patches and bug fixes, but brand new features will come after the short break. What exactly can you expect? That will be unveiled in due time.

The Final Cut

The initial Early Access launch seems not so distant in the mind’s eye, yet it has been three years of updates, patches and fixes. Through that period the game’s content grew to include 10 unique weapons (all with creative alt-fires), 16 gore-crusted enemies, 6 glorious boss encounters, 15 dripping with theme levels and 7 retro-radical 90’s cutscenes and now it is time to put a giblet ribbon on this meaty package with the final chapter and 1.0 launch on the 28th of August.

Juicy Deal

In the last update we have mentioned that there will be one last time to purchase the game at a discounted price before we will be raising the price and here it is - the launch period will be the last time when you can get the game at the Early Access price.

That means that for 30 days after the 28th of August you will still have the old price. We will even throw an additional discount for the opening week - just to make this even more juicy

This is not only a nod of appreciation to all who have been with us from the very start, but also a reflection on the current value proposition of INCISION. Not to mention the fact that we love delivering you new content to enjoy and we would love to do so long after the 1.0 release.

Final Chapter

For the final portion of this meaty buffet, we have something special as the final chapter of INCISION will be a thing to savour. With the biggest levels, flashiest visual and craziest music yet this chapter is a final thank you to all of you who stuck out with us throughout the Early Access period. 28th of August is just around the corner, but to keep your hunger pains at bay, we are starting a series of showcases from now till launch.

INCISION - FULL RELEASE CONFIRMED

What started as an act of violence won’t end in an act of mercy.

The Malichant Harvest Ship tore down from above, and hit the ground like an infection hitting open flesh.The Growth followed - through steel, concrete, and skin, spreading fast, deforming structure and matter into something cold, alive, and hostile. Everything gave in. What was once a city turned into a shivering carcass.

The Final Chapter

What can you expect in the final installment? We wish to keep the biggest surprises spoiler-free, but we do have a few juicy bits to share with you. So let’s talk about your newest weapons of mass cauterisation:

New Weapon - Flamethrower:
For almost every primordial fear humanity has devised the most effective weapon - simply burn it, and Flamethrower does just that. However, should you find some stubborn growth, then you can always detach and kick the whole canister at it.

New Rocket Ammo - Nuclear Missile:
A slow, heavy rocket round made for worst-case scenarios. Because sometimes you don’t need a scalpel, but a nuclear warhead. Just make sure to assume a safe position several kilometers away from the target. Or don’t - we won’t judge.

Price change

This sale also marks the pen-ultimate chance to get Incision not only at a discount, but also at the Early Access base price of 14.99 USD (or your local equivalent). Since Incision will be a fully finished product with way more content in August, we think it is only reasonable to adjust the price accordingly. This way we also want to tip the hat to all of you who have been with INCISION from the start while, through this here sale, giving a window of opportunity to everyone who would like to jump in right before the very last update.

For those who would still prefer to wait till the launch, then rest assured that we won’t be raising the price of the game by more than 5$ (or your local equivalent).
