Please don't kill me!! Jul 20, 2014 @ 11:59am
Why would a shotgun, a weapon which fires 10-20 pistol energy 00 buck (or more energetic shot if wanted) out to 50/100 yards depending on choke and load (and further but with less hit probability, or with good accuracy with slugs) be less lethal or shorter ranged than a pistol, a weapon which is only really effective out to 25/50 yards.?

Why would a bow, a weapon which makes a loud and distinctive noise to fire a low energy and weak projectile, be silent and powerful and armour peircing?

Why would a zombie be armoured?

I believe that the shotgun should only kill at least 6-8 if you factor in the fact that its rotting flesh and not solid flesh. It should wound at most 4-6 behind said zombies killed. It's just a guess, it feels more solid based off of what was said in this Mondoid. I agree 100% that killing 300 with only around 3 shells is WAY too easy. I come by the gun and shells a lot in my play through of the game. I think nerfing the shotgun is the best way to go, otherwise the game is a spray and pray and not a skill based game or survival game. I hope that you will bring more aspects of the farming in future updates such as the drip irrigation that was introduced by a mod that is now dead. I'd love to be able to go out to the large cities without having to come back to my crops being dead due to either too much rain, or not being watered while I'm away. Here's some more bleach! :bleach: oh and please allow me to use this bleach to clean the damn blood off of my floors and walls! lol

@Lord 317 All they say is bolt action rifle that is clip fed. I see nothing mentioning that it has to be a 'hunting' rifle. There are a number of bolt action rifles that are clip fed other than the Mosin Nagant. Weapons such as Mausers, Lee Enfields and 1903 Springfield rifles are all bolt action clip weapons. .30-06 Ammunition for the Springfield would hardly be rare either.

It doesn't take that long to pull the bolt nor to actually reload a clip fed rifle. Especially if its someone who has practiced. Not really understanding what the fuss is about.

I own a WW2 era mosin nagant, it does take some time to reload, but it is a solid rifle. The ammo for it(7.62x54) is hard to find in the U.S. When i bought mine it came with the bayonet, which would be cool to have in-game.

There hasn't ever been a bolt action hunting rifle that takes a clip, unless you count the Mosin Nagant, which was a military rifle from 1891. So are we going to have to load the clip for said MN, open the bolt, seat the clip into the internal magazine, push the cartridges down into the magazine, pull the clip out, close the bolt and fire?

THEN reload the clip, open the bolt, seat the clip into the internal magazine, push the cartridges down into the magazine, pull the clip out, close the bolt and fire again?

Why don't you just make a modern hunting rifle with a detachable magazine? Might as well have a black powder rifle if you're just going to use clips.

shotguns should be a headshot, if you have time to aim the shot, but if you just shoot after running i understand, but standing there for about 10 seconds waiting for a zombie to get close to shoot, just to find out i didnt get a crit
