Game's pace changed it from dynamic to boring.

Back then there were countless intense firefights, we ran faster, longer, could kill a camper easily, and because of all it, encounters were more frequent and it lasted longer.

Now it's a vehicule/camping oriented game. And people prefer Arma because you can actually see people, even if they camp.

I guess they get their niche game now, full of boring people, I pass, the perfect balance has been broken.

I honestly don't recall longer-lasting firefights prior to ICO, and I started playing when they first introduced strykers and BTRs. Most fights over objectives were settled in a few minutes, if that. By the time you realized where the enemy was shooting from, half of your squad already had their heads clicked-on.

There was very little opportunity to improvise, adapt, and overcome.

I know you probably don't care, but:

I remember when ICO first dropped (which, admittedly, was over-tuned), me and a random blueberry were the last ones on point, surrounded in an attic. The enemy knew we were up there, so they just started suppressing the **** out of us through the walls and windows. With the new suppression mechanics, it felt like the gates of hell had opened at the bottom of that staircase, and all of Satan's minions were coming after us. We lasted a good while, until eventually they brought up a .50 cal vehicle and killed us through the walls.

Never had nearly that much intensity pre-ICO.

Pre-ICO, disengaging from enemies and flanking around on foot was viable. Now your best bet is to drive a logi around and behind enemy lines, and build a FOB at an illogical position. Otherwise, you will be stuck larping like you were in a suppressed building doing nothing for the team.

I would send an errors report to OC about this.

Error Analysis by Chrome AI:

The error message you're seeing in Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader on Linux indicates several issues related to loading game data and libraries:
1. "Fallback handler could not load library ... MonoBleedingEdge/data-000000012522A060.dll" and "Environment variable not found. Access denied."
This suggests that the game's runtime environment, likely based on Mono (a cross-platform implementation of .NET), is unable to locate and load a critical library file (a .dll) from its designated path.
"Environment variable not found. Access denied." could point to permissions problems preventing the game from accessing the file or missing environment variables that point to the correct location of these libraries.
Possible solutions:
Check File Permissions: Ensure the game's directory and all its subfolders and files have the correct read/write/execute permissions for your user and for the game.
Verify Game Files: Utilize Steam's "Verify Integrity of Game Files" feature to repair any corrupted or missing game files.
Reinstall the Game: Consider a clean reinstall of the game to ensure all files are correctly installed.
2. "Unable to open archive file: Failed to read data for the AssetBundle ''."
This indicates a problem reading from the game's asset bundles, which contain game data like textures, models, and audio.
This could be due to a corrupted or incomplete download, or an issue with the file system.
Possible solutions:
Verify Game Files: Again, verifying the integrity of the game files might resolve issues with corrupted asset bundles.
Check Disk Space: Ensure you have enough disk space for the game and for Steam to update or verify its files.
3. "Serialization depth limit 10 exceeded at 'ClipSettings.ClipWrapper'. There may be an object composition cycle in one or more of your serialized classes."
This is a more technical error, suggesting a problem within the game's internal data structure or how it's trying to save or load information.
"Serialization depth limit exceeded" points to a situation where the game is trying to serialize (convert to a data format for storage or transmission) a complex object, and it encounters an endless loop or deeply nested structure, exceeding a built-in limit.
Possible solutions:
Report the Bug: As this is likely an internal bug within the game's code, consider reporting it to the developers of Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader for a potential fix.
Check for Game Updates: Developers might release patches that address this kind of internal game issue.
Consult Community Forums: Look for similar issues reported by other Linux users playing the game and any potential workarounds they might have found.
In summary, try verifying the game files in Steam, checking file permissions, and ensuring you have sufficient disk space. If the issues persist, report the problem to the game's developers and consult online resources for further assistance.

I hope one of those helps you out.
