If you are saying your readings are normal, I don't exactly have much to go off of to diagnose. I am also not an expert or anything. If I had to blindly guess, my first question would be is your system properly multithreading to utilize all cores on the CPU level? I'm guessing that wouldn't show as high usage. I'm not at home, so I can't check how you would go about determining that.

Teleporting really is about the same. You'll hear all your wires making a connection as you teleport, for example, and there's a second before you can see properly. I hypothesize that the game first loads the area as a template, then loads the saved world data for the area. You can sometimes catch the game showing something you destroyed for a split second, at least on an old system like mine.

I don't have a clue why your fps would tank in an area and not recover. Your drivers are up to date? Is your game installed in x64 (not even sure this would be a factor)? Which version of the game do you boot?

Now I can't be sure since I haven't tried but it seems like you need to use steam's "remote play together" to play multiplayer with friends. Because the game is local co-op only from what I can tell.

This is false/void of details, the button "Shared/Split screen Co-op" takes you to a list of games where the search is for Shared/Split screen Co-op games. If you click "Remote play together" you do get at the top a banner with the text "What is remote play? learn more..." clicking this you go to the guide of what it is, what it does and how it works.

Disclaimer! I have not used steam remote play together so how it works in practice exactly I do not know or have experience of. This is only my limited understanding of it!

From what I can tell this is how it works (with noobs are coming):
When starting a new game you need to toggle the Co-op toggle (in-game) and then friends needs to be invited in steam to remote play, the bonus is that these friends don't need to own the game but they do need a steam account.

You as host is more or less sharing your screen (of the game only) where your friends who join can connect with their own "mouse & keyboard" or "controller" to play. Sharing is possible but I would probably say joining and using your own controller or keyboard is easier when you actually play.

If you have used parsec before it is basically that but integrated into steam, from what I can tell.
