Your account is compromised
Do not authorize any trades or you will lose your items
-you gave away your account on some phishing site
-the phishers have changed your profile hoping you're enough of a fool to fall for this (actually pretty obvious) scma
-they wait for you to give your items to some friend so they can intercept them
Here's why it's an obvious scam: there's not a snowball's chance in hell any official announcement would be delivered via user-customizable profile text. There's official messages for that!
Then there's absolutely no reason whatsoever to warn you of an impending ban. Like, why the ♥♥♥♥ would anyone official want to do that? The message being oddly specific about transferring your stuff away is the last nail in this scam's credibility's coffin. Or not, I'm sure others will come up with other common-sense-driven red flags.
With all that out of the way,
-revoke your API key
-deauthorize all other devices
-generate a new set of backup Steam guard codes
-change your password
-educate yourself about phishing
-grow some common sense
The first 4 items are about securing your account right now, the last 2 will keep your online accounts secure in future.
Who the heck came up with this trainwreck of a sentence?
i really don't even feel bad for these people, I mean how dumb can you be? I wouldn't have fallen for this when I was 10.
Sometimes, what looks like overconfidence to you, is plain & normal healthy confidence.
never been bitten tho, so clearly it's not overconfidence.
