Why DLC achievements count to the percentage of completion?
As above. I don't see any reason to do so when I don't want to buy a DLC. The new achievements should not count, cause I don't have/and don't want the DLC.

Is it not not reasonable to count only the achievements from the product I bought (but do not own -LOL to that Steam)?

The logical reason... to have the "complete" experience in a game, and thus to "complete" a game, you need the DLC. Even if it's released after the game itself, it's still game content that you are missing.

The business reason... requiring the DLC for 100% completion of the achievements means more people will buy it.

If you don't want the DLC, don't buy it.

It's unethical to force dedicated players to chose between having a low achievement completion percentage after putting in (sometimes hundreds of) hours of work or buying DLC they aren't interested in.

Only achievements for software a player owns should count towards their completion.

The whole gaming industry became unethical recently...Also nothing strange that Steam is doing nothing about including DLC's in achievement progression ONLY if you own it... - people who like to do complete games MUST buy DLC's = more money for Steam.

Steam doesn't have to do anything really. Either buy the DLC to unlock the extra achievements the developers created or don't buy games with DLC.

The devs can make separate list for the achievements for their DLCs.

That's a good idea. They can have a PSN style system where DLC achievements are in a seperate tier. Though the Steam achievement system is already broken af but I think still they can have something like -

All achievements unlocked in a base game = 1 completed game
All achievements unlocked in base game + DLCs = well uhm... 1 perfect game

So now they can have 4 stats in the achievement showcase with an added "completed game" section. And I think that would match pretty good with the showcase Featured games.

Just don't buy the games if you don't wanna buy the DLC, it's what I do. :nonplussed_creep:
