Probably not. I mean, the Valve store is gone now anyways.
Valve tend top be pretty forgiving anyway, so I wouldn't be surprsied if not.
Valve likely would only get invovled if it was impinging on the same market. That's how it tends to work - brand confusion and all that.
So if he started making say, video games with the same assets in, he may need to ask permission first.
Which brings me onto another point - how do you they HAVEN'T got permission?
cs, tf, dod, portal, l4d, dota and technically even artifact is just acquired IP, not original.
An awful lot of Valve's stuff if free to use licence.
As long as either you agree not to use it commercially, or if you do ask permission first, they're usually cool.
So again, it's hard for anyone to say, because we do not know what arrangement skibidtoilet has if any.
With my volunteer work at music festivals I've got to know quite a few artists and people in "the biz". It happens ALL the time.
One of my closest friends (well two, really) are in a punk band that has been going since the dawn of punk. They've played and been around with everybody you care to mention.
They run their own record production, their own gigs and everything. And trying to keep on top of bootleg productions especially ♥♥♥♥ t-shirts from China is something that is not onkly hard but often bloody impossible.
