Games with in-game downloads

Is anyone else highly annoyed by games which require you to download more content once you boot them up? Seems to be very common with many Free to Play games; they show up as being a 500mb download on Steam, you boot up the game to try it out, and suddenly you have to wait for the game to download 3GB of its own content, which could havae just been downloaded directly on Steam.

What's even worse is that sometimes these games download stuff slower than Steam does, or downloads jam and you need to restart them. It's just really annoying and redundant.

Some games use their own launcher to do everything, yes. MSFS is hilarious.
