10.9 Dev Preview - Overlay UI
I know beta os's aren't supported, but has anyone found a fix for the overlay UI on mavericks?

Yep! Go to Security and Privacy in System Preferences, then go to the Privacy tab along the top, click Accessibility along the left, and checkmark the box next to "bash"

Friendly reminder that 10.9 is still under NDA

I hope Steam will use all the tools available in this new version to make Steam more efficient and optimized.

Keep dreaming :(

Dreaming of the future, why not :)
I expect Steam takes risks and presents us with a new interface.

So, I'm using 10.9 Developer Preview 2 and the overlay is still broken. Allowing bash in the Privacy tab doesn't affect it. A direct result of this is that in Borderlands 2 I am unable to join others' games or have them join mine. If Steam could take a look at this, it'd be much appreciated.

Anyone try playing FPSs in 10.9? Very "choppy" while using mouse look.

please be more specific, which FPS do you speak of?

I got it working just by enabling bash and dragging steam into the list. And I've had remarkably improved performance in everything I've played, what's your rig Jim Bond?

iMac7,1 but I don't have 10.9 installed on it

Wait, so you were having choppy mouse movement on Mountain Lion or Mavericks? On Mavericks all of my performance issues with OSX based games disappeared with my 12.2 iMac, you sure it isn't your hardware?

I can confirm everything works fine again once dragging steam into the privacy/accessibility list. Games join and I get the overlay.

Thanks, Kyle.

Do you guys see the main steam window flash when you open a dropdown?

Not that I remember, I'll check again when I get to work tomorrow.

Nope. Not seeing any flashes.
