if i own a game on my windows pc i can also d/l and plac on mac or linux right?

Yeah, your profile says you have 52 games; chances are that there's one that actually DOES have a Mac or Linux port.

For the most part (I'm not currently aware of any exceptions) you don't buy a specific version of a game on Steam: you buy "the game", and you can play it in whatever language it's available, on whatever platform it's available for.
