I have a mac and when i bought orange box it won't let me play it.

To my knowledge "Orange Box" isn't a game -- it's a collection of several Valve games. Check whether the game that you tried playing actually HAS a Mac-port.

i have half life ep 1 and ep 2 on a disc and
it wont work

I just checked the store page for the Orange box, and these games don't even exist. I'm assuming you are talking about the Half Life 2 versions, as the Orange Box has "Episode 1" and "Episode 2" for these.

According to the store, they are available for MacOS. I doubt they put the MacOS versions on the retail disk, though.

Did you try downloading the games through Steam? You might have to register them first, though -- the account that you used for this post doesn't own them.
