Should public executions be televised/PPV?

Should we again have open executions for violent offenders? Whether live or live stream and some sort of cash flow to something GOOD using the proceeds. Sounds like a Cronenberg film, but things are pointing that way anyway.

You could have them fight like gladiators, if you sell enough tickets you might even make up the cost of imprisoning them for several years.

i`d like to, if chances of accidentally going to the material would be minimized, like, lets say, do it on completely separate channel

It would most definitely tokenized or reduced to an app like HBO or UFC now.

No. At that point is not retribution or justice, it's just glorification of violence (and we have plenty of that already, if you ask me).

But if Dana White sanctioned some PPV of the murdered of Charlie to be televised, it might actually break records as some strange paying of respect. Stuff like that could actually get money back from people hoarding it. Allowing betting on almost everything is no more noble, IMO. Evil follows where it may.

I'm not Charlie Kirk, so I oppose to the public execution on the television.I think even the most violent and heinous offenders don't deserve that.

I think it's not really that they don't "deserve" it. It's more about us being better than that.

Most countries moved away from public executions staged like a show for several reasons. It's barbaric, cruel and no matter the amount of pain you inflict, it won't magically fix what happened in the first place.

My primal brain tells me "RAAAAH Vengeance!" but really... Do I really want to see the kind of ♥♥♥♥ they pulled in medieval times or "enjoy" an exécution like it's a Saturday cartoon? Nah

Be the victim of a few of those crimes, and you'll feel differently about the enjoyment part.

You're right, it doesn't fix what was broken. But it ends the person who caused the problem, and that is a very satisfying feeling. The next best thing is to know they'll be locked up for the rest of their lives, and only leave prison in a box.

From my point of view. It's much, much worse to rot in jail deprived of your freedom for life. And if the guy is especially disgusting, well, his cell mates will gladly make sure he don't enjoy whatever time he has left.
