if you want to switch to console, go ahead, but be warned, console will last around 6 years before the next gen console is out
ex.
ps1, '94
n64, '96
ps2, 2000
gc, 2001
xbox, 2001
xb360, 2005
wii, 2006
ps3, 2006
wiiu, 2012
xbone, 2013
ps4, 2013
Good desktop (laptops are way weaker perf/$) for about $1000 is usable for gaming without upgrades for 2-3 years, needs $300-500 upgrade for 2-3 extra years and console for $500-600 that lasts 6 years (if it doesn't break).
New games for PC can usualy be bought at $35-45 with bit searching and older ones are at steam sale for example $2-10. For consoles new games are typically $60-70 and older ones (not used) $30-40 smth.
For ease of calculation PC: $1500/6years + games at $45 each and time frame of 6 years
Console: $600/6years+ games at $60 each
5 games per year: PC $2850 , console $2400
8 games per year: PC $3660 , console $3480
10 games per year: PC $4200 , console $4200 <--
12 games per year: PC $4740 , console $4920
this is if you are buying games near launch, pc cost drops if you are buying some in sales for under $10.
Two years is bit short timeframe so pc high starting cost affects calculation much. For two years amount of games to buy new in year to be even in cost with console:
500+45x=300+60x
x=13,333...
so for two years time pc to be cheaper option you need to be buying 14 new games a year if your pc cost $1000 (500/year) and console costs $600 (300/year).
Yeesh, maybe I will just quit gaming altogether.besides, I just don't get the same enjoyment out of them like I used to anymore...... I need more hobbies that are equally fun... But can't find any
:(
PC games also get considerably cheaper during sales, and there are far more exclusives.
You should go where the games you want to play are. If there are a lot of PS4 / WiiU / Xbone exclusives you want to play, go right ahead.
PCs being more complicated should never be something that discourages you, unless you have no desire to learn.
have fun with that !
Buy yourself a PS4 or a Wii U and keep your PC.
You'll be able to play most, if not all, of Xbone's exclusive titles so it doesn't really matter.
I would say for console gaming go for the Wii U as most of their games are probably gonna be on the Wii U exclusively.
Then again, PS4 does have some decent IPs.
Haha, i know that was a joke, but it was a funny one. Thats not why i got banned... I got banned because i was 'Spamming" the hardware section with new threads (Thats what it said)
But as of now, im ban free! xD Just got unbanned today
Sure thing!
Why not be both?
STARCRAFT MY LOVE.. jk but yeah sc2 is king
Spoken like someone who doesnt understand the benefits of a PC.
