With or without subtitles ?

I started playing far cry 3 but i had to reinstall it cuz someking of a bug, anyways at first i put on the subtitles but they kept destracting me and i realised i missed most of the cutseens becouse i tryed reading those fast subtitles and i had to restart the game sever times trying to watch both. So what do you think shoud i put the subtitles on or of now in far cry 3 (if i turn tem off is it bad luck or somthing like that ? Yes this is a real question cuz i do worri for those kinds of thing) and do you generally play games with subttitles on ?

If you are that distracted by the subtitles turn them off. Keeping them on can help you to understand what people are saying if it is hard to hear. But if the games sound is good and clear and you have no trouble hearing what people say...turn them off.

Yes at first i did turn them on to hear what people say but i noticed that i get tired trying to read the subtitles witch are way too fast going and alsowe noticed that the subtitles missed and aded some words witch were not said.

If I can, I tend to put subtitles on. This goes for games, TV and films.

It's just got to the point where it feels "wrong" to watch or play something without subtitles turned on.

I play games in their intended original language, which most of the time is English. My English isn't bad but not perfect either, and depending on the voice actors, their speed and possible accents as well as other sounds mixing inbetween I can't always make out what they say without subtitles. So I play with them all the time. If I trust my skills enough or think I might be missing something higher above on the screen I glance upwards regardless though.

If it's in my language I don't use subtitles, but if it isn't then yes (in Spanish or in English if there isn't in Spanish).
My English is too bad to play TWAU without subtitles, for example. So I have the subtitles on for this game. Right now, for example, I'm watching X-Men (these old animated series) but I can't put subtitles on so I'm a bit lost, but I can understand more or less what they're saying (at least I can improve my English in this way...).
Also as Horatio said before in X-Men I can understand Xavier, Storm, Jubilee, Jean, a bit of Cyclops, Magneto but I have some problems to understand Wolverine or Rogue.
So yeah, I usually keep subtitles on (if I can) except if their voices are in my language.
