Astronauts are space explorers, those people were space tourists. And they didn't even make it out of the airport before flying back home. It'd be like me claiming I've seen NYC because I changed flights at JFK once.

And to expand on this, she even defended it by going, "have you been to space?" As if being a celebrity or billionaire who can get a ticket somehow makes your opinion more valid than anyone else's.

The word "astronaut" means "star sailor". It certainly can include space tourists.
The definitions I've seen are intentionally vague but, make room for people who want to draw a distinction between highly trained and qualified professionals, and rich celebrities.

Pointing your finger at a single woman is just weird. There are plenty of rich, arrogant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out there.

He expressed awe and humility from everything that I have seen. When people made jokes about him managing to make love to an alien despite only being in space for a few minutes, he took it in stride and played along.
