I miss GTA clones

Did Rockstar trademark them or something? Like WB trademarked the nemesis system. Then never made another game using that system.

They used to be everywhere. From bad like The Godfather to great like The Saboteur and Sleeping Dogs.

The market is absolutely starved right now for a GTA clone. It's been 12 (TWELVE) years since the last GTA game. A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decade. Combine this with the fact we still don't have any idea when GTA 6 comes out. Could be in 1 year, 2 years, maybe more.

It's a no brainer money printing machine. Stop doing live service crap that flops in under 1 month (Concord) and make a good singleplayer GTA clone. JUST DO IT!

Oh yeah... The last one was so trash I completely zoned out it even existed.

I guess we had Saints Row Gat Out of Hell in 2015? 10 years ago. Which at least wasn't a 1/10 like the most recent one.

just misses the decade cutoff, but this "gta clone" is incredible. never played saints row or true crime or scarface or any of those ones.

what killed them was the unsustainable growth of the gaming industry where every AAA game has to have a budget of 100 bazillijillion dollars and gross six hundred times that budget, there is nothing left in this industry except big long standing franchises doing the safest most expected things over and over
