Child Rearing.....During A Zombie Apocalypse

Spur of the moment thought here, that I thought was interesting. So I'm watching Dawn of the Dead(one of the greatest zombie apocalypse movies in my opinion), and in the movie theres this guy with a pregnant wife...yes..full on preggers. So it got me thinking, heres the scenario:

Your wife or girlfriend is pregnant, or if you're female, you're pregnant. What is the best way to handle that VERY dire phase of life in a world that's well..sh*t?

Do you *gulp* do away with the situation to spare the child of having to live in such a world and possibly protecting you and your group? OR do you deal with it head on and try to raise a baby in the midst of a zombie infested world. I'll save my opinions for now but I want to hear what you guys think. Maybe spark a debate about this.

Hide in the basement until the Zombie apocalypse is over, and once it's done I'll raise the baby like in a normal way.
